Waititu was handed a five-year jail term or a fine of Ksh 2.5 million.

The court also imposed a mandatory fine of Ksh 51 million, failure to pay leading to an additional seven years in prison.

His conviction stems from irregular tender awards in Kiambu County in February 2018.

He was also fined Ksh 20 million, failure to pay leading to five years in prison.
