Although spring hasn’t technically sprung, I am still in full bloom🌸, getting ahead of some much needed spring cleaning around my apartment. I find when I do major tasks, such as deep cleaning my space, it helps to take it a section at a time. Today I wanted to focus on repotting my plants 🪴 , which was a task that was way overdue. My plants look so sad and wilted! I stopped watering them weeks ago, before I went on my sailing trip in the British Virgin Islands, so the soil would be dry for replanting. I don’t think that is a gardening tip, I just don’t like dealing with wet soil hahahahah it's a sensory thing for me I think. It’s times like these when I wish I had a private patio at my place. I say private because I like to do my gardening nearly naked and wouldn’t want to disturb the neighborhood of course 😉 To be honest it took me wayyy longer than expected to repot all three of these plants, which is barely any plants to be honest! It lowkey took me about 3 or 4 hours because honestly I had to google so much. I know little to nothing about plants, but I feel as a woman, I have an intuitively nurturing spirit so I just go with my gut when it comes to caring for my plants. So I spent the majority of my day on my hands and knees getting really dirty. My snake plant was my biggest hurdle. Again, I don’t know much about plants and my bestie and I took these plants from our complex garden hahaha. In my defense, this was her idea… not mine! I love living in the same building as my bestie, it feels like college all over again, which is where her & I met! Anyway that is how I acquired the snake plant, and she told me it was a low maintenance plant. She even mentioned how it thrived on neglect! At first I over-watered it, then I didn’t water it enough… and then I guess you have to rotate the plant everytime you water it…?! Also apparently you need a tall, heavy, narrow plant pot for it… there’s just soooo much! How am I supposed to remember all this and be sexy at the same time 😩I got it repotted, but the job is far from done… My bestie was wrong because this plant does not in fact thrive on neglect, it actually needs a lot of TLC❤️‍🩹
